Former Nigeria Football Association, NFA vice-chairman, Amanze Uchaegbulam insists he is not a corrupt person.
Uchaegbulam who spoke with naijafootball247 says he is amazed that people discredited him just because they wanted him out of the NFA.
“Saying somebody is corrupt is very harsh and I know I am not corrupt and nobody can describe me as corrupt,” Uchaegbulam said.
“I have handled financial responsibilities and came out clean. Right now in Nigeria, during the U17 World Cup I am the only sub seat that rendered its account and returned money so you can’t describe a man like me as corrupt, I will not take it.
“Moreso, I am not a signatory to the account, I do not hold money so I wonder why people will say these just to tarnish me image,” Uchaegbulam said.
On the issue of the ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC, Uchaegbulam said he is not scared.
“Why will I be scared of an EFCC investigation when I know I am clean. I was there and I wish the EFCC will make public details of the session.
“They just asked me a few questions and they asked me to go. I was just vice-president so I am paying the price for being loyal to my president,” the former vice-chairman of the NFA said.
“I know I will come out of this unscathed but for now I must face the fact that I am paying the price for serving my country.”
