Valencia’s Sunday Stephen will make his debut for Nigeria in Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in Conakry.
Stephen who has played for Spain’s U-19, U-20 and U21 sides is set to make his senior international debut with the country of his birth no thanks to the unavailability of John Mikel Obi and Dickson Etuhu through injury.
Another player who will get a first with the Eagles is record Nigerian League scorer, Ahmed Musa who will get his first start after making a substitute appearance against Madagascar last month.
Ahmed Musa, playing for Kano Pillars last season scored 18 goals in the League eclipsing Ishaya Jatau’s 17 goal record of 1990.
He has since agreed a move to Dutch side, VVV Venlo .
What looks like Nigeria’s starting line on Sunday will be Vincent Enyeama in goal, Chidi Odiah, Joseph Yobo, Dele Adeleye and Taiye Taiwo in defence; a midfield of Yusuf Ayila, Sunday Stephen and Kalu Uche while the strike force would most likely be West Ham’s Obinna Nsofor, Obafemi Martins and Ahmed Musa.
