After downing tools for three days, players of Sharks and Dolphins, two clubs owned by the Rivers State government returned to training on Thursday morning.
They decided to return after a compromise deal reached between the players and the Rivers State sports commissioner, Boma Iyaye.
In the deal, they players will be paid one month salary and three match bonuses by Friday so they can prosecute their weekend League matches and will then be paid three months salaries on Tuesday.
Sixty percent of sign on fees owed to them last season will be paid on the third week of January next year.
The meeting had in attendance, the captains of both clubs, Emah Godwin (Dolphins) and Odinga Odinga (Sharks); both secretaries Ahmed Abdulrahman (Dolphins) and Cyril Dum Wite (Sharks); both managers, Stanley Eguma (Dolphins) and John Obuh (Sharks) as well accountants of both clubs as well as the Rivers State Sports commissioner.
Dolphins play in Kaduna this weekend against Kaduna United while Sharks are at home to Bukola Babes.
