Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia says he is really thrilled with the win over Sierra Leone in an international friendly game on Wednesday.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles overcame their West African neighbours 2-1 with two first half goals from Taye Taiwo (penalty) and home boy, Ekhigho Ehiosun before Mohhamed Kalia pulled one back for the visitors.

After the game, Siasia said the players did very well and winning the match to him was most important.

“As regards the performance of the boys against Sierra Leone, to me I think they did very well and the bottom line is winning. Winning will kind of help us to have a little bit of confidence when we play our next game,” Siasia said.

He added that the players collectively did well on the night because it was never going to be easy playing the game especially with so many of them getting their debut in a full international.

“I am satisfied with the players for now. I did not say it was going to be easy playing against Sierra Leone but it was a good start and I am pleased with my players.”

Nigeria’s next game come in about 5 weeks from now against Ethiopia in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match which Nigeria hosts.
