Chief media officer of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ademola Olajire says he believes Samson Siasia is under pressure though that pressure is not coming from the Federation.
Olajire (pictured left)says they are not putting any pressure on Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia to win Sunday’s 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Ethiopia but he must be under some or a lot of it.
Olajire told naijafootball247.com that the NFF have no reason to pressure the coach since it is just his first competitive game in charge of the team.
“Why would we want to put pressure on him? We really have no reason to do that because we know it is his first time on the job and it is his first game too.
“We are actually fully behind and want him to succeed like any country’s Federation would want their coach to succeed,” Olajire said.
He however added that there is pressure on Siasia, though it is not coming from the Federation.
“The man must know that he has to win. I’m sure he sees the log and knows sees that Guinea are ahead of us,” Olajire said.
“I’m sure he knows that if we do not win this match we may not play at the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
“I’m also sure as he lives his life daily he meets people and gets phone calls from friends to want him to know what is at stake. All that can put pressure on a person so I know he is under some pressure but it is not coming from us,” the media officer said.
