Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia says he has pencilled down an international friendly game for the national team on the next FIFA window.
Siasia told naijafootball247.com that the national team will play a game against Peru on March 29, 2011, three days after the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in Abuja.
“We want to guard against what happened with the Obama Cup in the US so we want the organisers of this friendly game against Peru to commit financially to this.
“The game comes up in Malta and we have taken care of everything. We must find a way to have these games played and not every time we travel games like these are cancelled,” Siasia (Pic)told naijafootball247.com.
He says he wants the players, especially those based in Nigeria to be involved in games regularly so he can asses them in real match situations.
“It does not help the players that they cannot play friendly games and I am hopeful that the game against Peru in Malta will hold.”
With the proposed friendly against Peru coming up three days after the AFCON qualifying match against Ethiopia it seems Siasia may not break camp for the players based in Nigeria but use them to prosecute the friendly game.
