Players and officials of Sharks FC will receive their largesse on Thursday from the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Premier League side, Sharks, won the West Africa Football Union, WAFU Cup in December 2010, their first trophy in 39 years prompting the governor to announce that 22 players from the team will get a brand new car each as well as five hundred thousand naira (about $3260 each).

The governor also announced that 5 officials from the team will get a brand new car each and one million naira (about $6520)
According to the Rivers State sports commissioner, Boma Iyaye, the gifts will be presented at the Sharks Stadium on Thursday at 4pm and the ceremony will be followed up by a friendly game between the Flying Eagles and Nigeria’s U20 side, the Flying Eagles.
Sharks emerged the 2010 WAFU Cup champions after defeating Casa Sports of Senegal 1-0 in Lome Togo on Sunday December 26, 2010.
In 2004 players of Dolphins FC received a brand new Volkswagen Polo car and one million naira each from the Rivers State governor for winning the Nigeria League and Cup double.
In 2007, players of Dolphins also received brand new Kia Cerrato cars for winning the FA Cup.
