The turnout at Argentina’s training session on Monday in Abuja was poor as fans may have stayed away.
Many expected to watch a full Argentine national team in the international friendly match against Nigeria but with the South Americans naming a team without Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuan, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Diego Milito, Gabriel Milito, Javier Mascherano and Angel Di Maria it seems the game will not generate the hype previously imagined.
The highest profile players in the Argentine team for the game against Nigeria on Wednesday are Pablo Zabaleta (Pictured left) of Manchester City and Nicholas Otamendi of Porto.
Emile Insua, Ezekiel Garay are also part of the Argentine team.
However, the team trained like a bunch preparing for a World Cup final as head coach, Batista showed he meant business despite the fact it is a friendly game.
The team had a 2 hour training session at the FIFA Goal Project pitch within the Abuja National Stadium and will have another on Tuesday at the main bowl of the stadium which will be close to the public.
Players and officials of both teams will meet the press on Tuesday morning ahead of the big match.
