Nigeria’s U20 women team striker, Desire Oparanozie has told naijafootball247.com that there will be no disappointment this time as the girls qualified for their 2nd successive World Cup semi final.
Oparanozie scored the extra time goal that gave the Falconets a 1-0 win over a stubborn Mexican side and she is now confident that the Falconets can go all the way.
“The idea is to win. No body plays a match without wanting to win and having come this far we can only continue to be positive.
“Last time out we got to the final and lost to the Germans in the final but this time we hope it will be different. We just have to take one game at a time and not start looking at playing the final or winning the Cup,” Oparanozie said.
The free scoring player also added that her goals boots have not dried up yet as she hopes to get on the score sheet more at the World Cup.
“It will be foolhardy of me to start counting how many more goals I hope to score but one thing I know is that my job in the team is to help us win and to score goals for good measure so I am always optimistic I will score whenever I play.”
Desire Oparanozie has scored a total of 4 FIFA World Cup goals in her career.
