Super
Eagles and Sunshine Stars defender, Godfrey Oboabona has revealed to
naijafootball247.com why he is still in the Nigerian League.

Seen
by many as the revelation of the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, played
in South Africa, Oboabona says he is not in a hurry to make a move that he may
regret later.
“Yes
I received a lot of offers after the competition but it is common knowledge
that the European transfer window closed before the Africa Cup of Nations
ended,” Oboabona said.
“You
want me to rush to Kenya, Zimbabawe, Zambia or some other place just because I want
to be called foreign based player? Or maybe end up in some division two club
somewhere?”
“I
have to just keep playing my football and believe I will get something in the
summer. There is no hurry. If it will come, it will come.”
Godfrey
Oboabona, unknown by many ended up playing every minute of every game for Nigeria
as they won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in February.
He
still plays for Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Football Professional League.
