Akwa United’s head coach,
Justin Tenger says he has no fears of relegation for Akwa United despite their
lowly placing on the Nigeria Professional League table.
Akwa United currently lie
in 18th position having amassed 24 points from 20 matches, one point
more than bottom placed Sharks but Tenger would not hear about the club even
threatened by relegation.
“For goodness sake anytime
you are talking of relegation, please don’t involve Akwa United in it,” Tenger
said to naijafootball247.com.
When that Akwa United
reminded was deep in relegation zone he simply said it won’t happen.
“That is not going to
happen. Akwa United is not a team to be relegated. It is not going to happen. Just
take it from me.
On Sunday, as the League returns,
Akwa United hosts Lobi Stars in an encounter they must win to begin to work
their way out of relegation zone.
