Super Eagles’ Kenneth Omeruo

Chelsea
and Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo says he may leave Chelsea when the January
transfer window opens in two weeks.

Omeruo
told naijafootball247.com that he does not want to go into the World Cup on the
back of not playing regular club football hence his decision to move on.
“I
love challenges and wouldn’t want to ever run away from them but this case is
different because it’s a World Cup year and I need to be playing regularly as
we get to May 2014,” Omeruo said.
“Every
club has opposition so I know that even if I leave Chelsea I still have to work
my way into the first team of whatever club I go to but that may be the only
way for me to get regular action.
“I
want to play regularly before the World Cup and if I do not get it at Chelsea I
want to move to a place where I can get it,” Omeruo said.
Speaking
on his trip to Scotland last month Omeruo denied that he was about to join Kilmarnock
on loan.
“I
just went to Scotland to visit some of my friends and it has nothing to do with
joining a club there,” he said.
Twenty
year old Kenneth Omeruo can play in either Right Back or Center Back; he is yet
to have a senior appearance for Chelsea but played twenty six times for ADO Den
Haag in the Dutch league where he was on loan last season.
He
has played fifteen times for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
