Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka
By Jessica Amadi

A
seasoned Sports Administrator and former national team attacker, chief Adokiye
Amesimaka has called for a total restructuring of Nigerian football in the face
of the current crisis rocking the Nigerian Football Federation.
FIFA
suspended Nigeria from international football on Wednesday due to what it
termed government interference in the running of the Federation.
However,
Amesimaka who believes that government should not succumb to corruption says
the restructuring is long overdue.
“On
no account should government succumb to blackmail for any thought, not from
FIFA, not from Maigari, if FIFA disregards lawful actions and insists on
suspension, so be it,” Adokiye told naijafootball247.com.
“Let
Nigerians be bold enough to say, FIFA to hell with you. Who knows, it may even
be the impetus for us to restructure our football as far as I am concerned
because it is overdue for restructuring,” He added.
Amiesimaka
also believes that football will continue to exist in the country no matter
what.
“The
sun will continue to shine; there will still be night and day. There will be
sunrise and sunset even if we don’t play football for two years, I tell you
nothing will happen,” he said.
Meanwhile
a delegation led by Bolaji Ojo Oba is in Brazil to hold talks with FIFA
concerning the suspension melted to the football house.
