West
Bromwich Albion’s Nigerian import, Brown Ideye says he will bank on the “Nigerian
factor” in the club to excel in his time at the midlands.
Ideye
recently joined WBA from Dynamo Kiev for a club record ten million pounds and
is set to join up with his team mates after a delay in the issuance of a visa.
Ideye
told Naijafootball247.com that West Bromwich Albion certainly knows how to
handle Nigerian players and he will capitalize on that.
“From
Ifeanyi Udeze to Nwankwo Kanu, then Osaze Odemwingie and Victor Anichebe, we
have had four Nigerians there previously and none of them has been a flop,”
Ideye said.
“I
think this club knows how to handle Nigerian players because they sign a lot of
them and for me I will concentrate on the games when they come and put ahead of
me the fact that when I get onto the pitch for a game the only option will be
to win it.”
After
a two week delay, Ideye finally got a visa and is expected to join his mates
before the end of the week
As
soon as the news got to him on Monday that his visa had been approved, he
tweeted, “So Happy to announce that my Visa has been issued, will join the team
ASAP #wba,”
Brown
Ideye will wear the number 9 jersey at West Bromwich Albion this season.
“It’s
a big jersey because people always expect those who wear this jersey to score
loads of goals but for me, I will just give my best and make sure that at the
end of the day I assist the team.
“I
believe good things will happen because in everygame I always want to show my
self and work for my team.

“I
will not set a goals target for myself but I believe this transfer to West Brom
will be a good one,” Ideye enthused.
