Sharks head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote
Former
Enyimba, Kano Pillars and FC Abuja chief coach Abdul Maikaba has joined the
technical set up of Sharks.
Maikaba
whose coaching career started with a youth side in keno has also tasted glory
with Kano Pillars and Enyimba in the domestic scene.
The
soft spoken coach who did not hide his admiration for the coaching style of the
Technical Adviser of Sharks, Gbenga Ogunbote and quality of the team said he is
in Port Harcourt to add value to one of the few traditional team’s in the elite
league.
“I
must say am particularly pleased with the progress Ogunbote has made in this
team,” Maikaba said.
Maikaba
who was introduced to the players and officials of the team over the weekend stressed
that he has been monitoring the team’s performance from the unbeaten run in the
first stanza of the league to free fall.
He
however expressed optimism that Sharks can still take its pride of place at the
summit of the league by the end of the season.
“I
have been following the team’s progress from when the run in the first round of
the league until the free fall and the boys are good and that is why I want to
say Sharks can still reclaim the top spot before the end of the season.”

Maikaba
joined the team for the first time at Saturday evening training session and will
be  the number three man sharks dug out.
