Emem Eduok
Dolphins
top scorer, Emem Eduok says he is happy to be part of the Super Eagles set up
after finishing his first ever training session with them.’
Eduok
who was called up just on Sunday night as a replacement for injured Victor
Moses told naijafootball247.com exclusively that he was challenged by John
Mikel Obi and Emmanuel Emenike especially.
“We
had our first training session today and I was able to see the likes of Mikel,
Enyeama and Emenike and it was a challenge to me.
“The
training was good and everything was okay,” Eduok said.
Keshi’s welcome
Emem
Eduok added that he had not had any personal talk with head coach of the team,
Stephen Keshi yet except when he first arrived in camp on Monday.
“Keshi
welcomed me and told me he had heard a lot about me and it was encouraging for
me because I know the man he is and I have always wanted to play under him.”
He
added that he will leave his game for Keshi to judge since he is the coach.
“I
will do my best for the team in training. All I have done in my life is do my
best, but I leave the coaches to judge me for themselves so I this case, I will
leave my game to the coach of the team to judge.
“If
he thinks I have done well enough I will be happy to play but if not, I will
just have to go back and work harder and hope for another chance.
No pressure
Playing
for the first time amongst the likes of Mikel Obi, Emmanuel Emenike, Nosa
Igiebor and the other Europe based professional players, Eduok insists he is
not star struck by the occasion.
“With
all my heart I respect what they have done for football in Europe and I respect
them personally, but it is football and we always strive to do our best.
“But
like is said I will always do my best when I get on the pitch.”
