Prolific
forward Peter Ebimobowei has revealed exclusively to naijafootball247.com that
money drove him to Al Ahly in Egypt.
Ebimobowei,
still relishing his move to the Egyptian giants, Al Ahly where he signed a
three-and-half years contract with the 8-time CAF Champions League winners says
he is very excited with the move and hopes to win more titles with the Cairo
Red Devils.
“I
feel so good and happy to join the best team in Africa”, an excited Ebimobowei
said.
“I
hope to achieve great things in Egypt with Al Ahly.
“I
want to win the Champions League with the team as well as more and more titles,”
Ebimobowei emphasized.
Money, a big
factor
The
21-year old, won the hearts of many fans of his former club, Bayelsa United
with his goal scoring prowess after scoring 18 league goals last season to help
the club escape relegation in the last campaign.
The
soft-spoken forward fondly known as Ebi, disclosed that money motivated his
move to Ahly and also promised not to let his fans down in Egypt.
“I
have to go for the greener pastures and everybody knows that North African clubs
pay higher than their Nigerian counterparts,” Ebimobowei said.
“I
also want my fans to keep on supporting me the way they did in the past. I
promise I won’t let them down in Egypt,”

The League Bloggers Award player of the season nominee scored 18 league goals
for Bayelsa United last season, all from open play.
He
was also named the Brand Ambassador of local Sports Wear manufacturers, OWU.
