Plateau
United got an away win in Shagamu as they beat Remo Stars 2-1 at the Gateway
International Stadium.
Remo
Stars started on a high and took possession of the game in the first half but
couldn’t convert the chances created.
Plateau
United drew the first blood in the 26th minute after John Kim slotted in a
chance from a square play.
Victor
Mbaoma restored hopes for the home side at the stroke of half-time after he
headed in from Abiodun Abdulrasheed’s free kick.
Just
few minutes into the second half, Plateau’s Golbe Elisa converted a free kick
to make the game 2-1 in their favour.
Ndukwe
saved a shot from Elisa in the closing minutes of the game and Mbaoma’s shot to
equalise was stopped by Plateau’s goalkeeper.
According
to the Technical Adviser, Nduka Ugbade, he is not disappointed by the
performance of his lads.
“I
am not disappointed by the performance of my young lads because they played
well and they fought from the beginning to the end.
“We
created lot of chances but couldn’t convert. Now we have now learned our
lessons that whenever we create chances, we should utilise them.”

Remo
Stars will be away to Gombe United in the Match Day 2 on Wednesday, 18th of
January, 2017
