The Archdeacon Brown Education Centre (ABEC) Group of Schools have launched a Football Academy in Rivers State as a way of contributing to educational advancement and shaping future leaders in the society.

The academy was launched with an aim to ‘produce an all-round student that will excel in both academics and sport.’

The unveiling of the academy was done by former Green Eagles winger, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka.

Olumide Oyedeji an Ex National basketball player, former NBA player who represented Nigeria as the captain of the D’Tigers was also a guest at the launch.


The unveiling ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the schools board and former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Gabriel Tobi, Olympian Yusuf Ali, some former youth internationals and former Rivers State Commissioner of Information Ibim Semenitari, among others.

The ABEC Football Academy will help provide children desirous of a career in football with quality education alongside an elite player development football program.
