Players of Banham Model Primary School in Port Harcourt are now in Madrid for training as promised by their state governor, Nyesom Wike.
The team of schoolboys won the 2019 edition of the Channels Television Kids Cup and as a reward, the state Governor promised to take them on an all-expenses-paid trip to Madrid as well as register them as the first entrants to the academy in Port Harcourt partnered by the Spain based football giants, Real Madrid.
And in line with that commitment, players of the school on Monday commenced their historic training camp at the Real Madrid Football Academy in Madrid, Spain.
The players who arrived in Spain in the early hours of Monday moved to the Real Madrid Football Academy in Madrid later in the evening, where they received an official briefing from officials of the academy.
The officials took the players on a tour of facilities at the Academy before they were guided on a few exercises by the technical staff of the academy.
They later met with some students of the Real Madrid Football Academy, Madrid to familiarise themselves.
Captain of the team, Master Kingdom Tamuno thanked the Rivers State Governor for sponsoring them on the training tour to the Real Madrid Football Academy in Madrid.
He assured the Rivers State Governor that they would maximize the opportunity to train at one of the best Football Academy in the world.
