Akwa United players celebrate a league goal

Dakkada FC finally lost on the road as MFM won their encounter in Lagos, 1-0, thanks to a 47th-minute goal scored by Nnamdi Mejuobi.

That goal spoiled the party for Dakkada, new entrants in the League who were until Wednesday, yet to lose a game on the road. They had, however, lost twice at home to Kano Pillars and Akwa United.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United beat Nasarawa Utd 1-0. It was a goal scored by Ossy Martins after fourteen minutes.

Lobi Stars’ fine form continued as they beat Adamawa United 1-0 in Gombe. Ezekiel Tarama scored in the 51st minute.

Although they traveled far to Umuahia, Kano Pillars held their own and their unbeaten run as they made it nine matches without a loss. They forced Abia Warriors to a draw, 0-0.

Rangers International got their first win since November as they beat FC Ifeanyi Ubah 3-1.

Rangers drew first blood in the 19th minute when Olawoyin opened scores for them.

It was not long before Ekene Awazie equalized in the 39th minute for the away side. However, in the 68th minute, Olawoyin scored the second while Kenechukwu Agu sealed the win in the 81st minute giving Rangers their 3-1 win.

Sunshine Stars put their weekend loss behind that they suffered in the hands of Lobi Stars as Mohammed Suleiman in the 44th minute and Wasiu Jimoh in the 82nd minute gave them a 2-0 win against Jigawa Golden Stars.

Akwa United have now won five straight matches as Ubong Friday scored in the 30th minute for the promise keepers.

Warri Wolves took three points off Heartland with Ridwan Agbabuaka scoring in the 42nd minute.

Plateau United remain top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table with twenty-four points from thirteen games, while Rangers are rooted to the bottom with nine points from ten games.
