As teams in the Nigeria Professional football League prepare to take on their opponents in Matchday 15 of the 2019/2020 season, Media Officer of Enugu Rangers, Norbert Okoli says everyone in the camp of the Flying Antelopes basks in high optimism of contending with the top clubs at the end of the season.

Following a lackluster draw last weekend at home against the FC Nouadhibou, he thinks Rangers will go on to win Wednesday’s game even before the first blast of the whistle.

“Yes the team is already in Warri, the oil city, and I must say that the coaches and players know what is at stake. We are going there to win the game even before it starts.

“Officiating has been very cordial this season and I hope such will continue in our game today against Warri Wolves.

The Flying Antelopes were hoping to consolidate their 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture but played out a 1-1 draw with FC Nouadhibou to continue their uneventful run in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking to Nigeriafootballer.com the media officer explained that the result wasn’t what the team haggled for;

“Actually, not what we bargained for, the management, supporters, were not happy with the result, the players did their best, but naturally their best can’t be counted as it wasn’t good enough on the day.

“However, all hope is not lost, we still have two matches to play-yes a tough game against the Egyptian teams, Pyramid and Al-Masry but we shall not let down our guard, we shall go head to head as football is truly unpredictable he said.

Norbert also revealed that there are changes in the club since loanee coach Salisu Yusuf took over the managerial affairs of the club.

“To the best of my knowledge, the management, the sponsors of the club-Enugu Government, are fully in support of what the coach has brought to the table.

“Most of the fans have seen the changes, but very few still don’t believe, because in football it is the result that counts, but when you see a team going through a transition from the goalkeepers, Defense to the mid-field, we are hoping that the goal scorers will start banging in the goals.

“The man has done a good job since he came to the club, and the Management will continue to give him the full support and backings to deliver the goods for Rangers international this season he told Nigeriafootballer.com

However, The Media officer is highly positive that the season will be glorious for Enugu Rangers regardless of their current form, team struggles, and position in the league.

“The management, coaches, and players are optimistic. Yes, we have gone into the market to acquire new legs and we hope that these players will help the club contend for cup glories before the season ends.
