US Monastir striker, Anthony Okpotu is happy to be in Tunisia during his lockdown period to staying in Nigeria.
Okpotu told NigerianFootballer.com that Tunisia is a much better option for him than Nigeria and he is happy where he currently is.
“Actually, it would have been nice if I had come back to Nigeria, but looking at things, on the other hand, it is better I stayed back,” Anthony Okpotu told NigeriaFootballer.com.
“When you consider our health care system in Nigeria, I believe that if I stay here, I will not get infected, but going back to Nigeria is a great risk.
“It would have meant flying and who knows who would have sat next to me on the plane, but by staying here, ninety-nine percent, I will not get infected,” Okpotu said.
Anthony Okpotu was the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League a few years ago when he played for Lobi Stars FC.
He now plays for US Monastir in the Tunisian League. Despite the suspension of the League, Okpotu believes his form will not be affected.
“My form will not be affected by the suspension, though I may lose a little bit of my match fitness,” Okpotu told NigerianFootballer.com.
“My confidence in front of goal has been very very high. I have been practicing on my own and I have been doing a little bit of extra work.
“This suspension of the league is not really a problem for me,” Okpotu said.
