It was another painful ending on Friday as we were let down by ONE “unfortunate team” who vitiated our Friday’s Chance Mix ACCA
A more careful edit, as we always advise, could have taken out the unfortunate Gaz Metan Medias. We won’t give up, we keep going!
It’s another weekend with plenty of football actions as England becomes the latest country in Europe to kick off the new 2020/21 football season.
Nigerian born English youngster, Bukayo Saka is expected to lead the middle of the park for Arsenal when they file out against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium for the traditional English football season opener, FA Community Shield.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have won the Community Shield 15 times, and been runners up on seven occasions, so a chance to close in on Manchester United’s all-time record of 21 wins beckons for both.
Spirits should be high in the Arsenal camp after manager Mikel Arteta guided them to victory in eight of their last 11 competitive matches (D1, L2), including a 2-1 FA Cup final win over Chelsea – the first time an incoming ‘Gunners’ manager has won a major trophy in their first season in charge of the club since 1986/87.
However Liverpool have also scored before HT in their last five competitive matches, whilst the previous three saw both teams score before the break – something that’s also occurred in three of the last four H2Hs! However when the ‘Reds’ do win, it tends to be in emphatic fashion. Their last five competitive victories saw a 2+ goal winning margin, with four seeing the opener netted by the 25th minute.
Still in England, the retired Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi is in a race against injury as he pushes to make his debut for his new club, Stoke City when they welcome Blackpool to the Bet365 Stadium for their EFL Cup opening fixture.
Blackpool lost 12 of their 35 matches in League One last season and are likely to start this term off with a defeat against Stoke City. The visitors have won just once in their last 10 away trips in the EFL Cup, so this step up against Championship opposition looks tricky.
Stoke are back among the promotion favourites after a rocky campaign last term. That’s because the Potters have picked up their form at the bet365 Stadium. They finished the Championship campaign with three consecutive home wins and seven victories from their last nine here.
The Potters look good to add to that form, as they’ve not been dumped out of this competition by a non-Premier League side since 2012. Given Blackpool’s away record, our predictions here back a home win and a 2-0 victory for the Potters.
Leagues in France, Scotland, Belgium, Norway, Sweden are not left out of action with some interesting fixtures lined up for this Saturday.
Amidst these exciting actions across Europe, we have carefully picked a few matches in this Chance Mix ACCA Special.
We are backing the awesome favorites as outright winners [1X2] or that more than 2 goals be scored [Over 2.5].
