It was a painful ending on Friday as we were let down by only ONE “unfortunate team” who messed up with our Friday’s Straight Wins ACCA Special
A rather painstaking edit, as we always advise, could have taken out Italy. There’s no giving up, we go again!
It’s a weekend with not many club football actions, especially in Europe where top flight leagues are still on hold for the ongoing UEFA Nations League.
However, the focus is on South Africa as the 2019/20 ABSA Premiership season climaxes today. Nigerian footballers are in the mix of the actions as their clubs are either jostling for the title, fighting for CAF Champions League spot or bidding to avoid relegation on the final day.
The injured Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi’s Kaizer Chiefs are involved in a must win away encounter against the relegation battling Baroka at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg. Both teams need all three points – Baroka to avoid relegation and Chiefs to clinch the title at the expense of the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kaizer Chiefs have won two of their seven league matches. In their last match, Chiefs beat Chippa United 1-0 thanks to Khama Billiat’s goal. Before that victory, they had lost 1-0 to both Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits, drawn 1-1 with Stellenbosch and lost 3-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic.
Victory against Baroka will secure Chiefs the PSL title unless Sundowns win their game by four more goals than Chiefs do.
Baroka lost their last match 4-1 to SuperSport United after taking an early 1-0 lead. Late in the first half they were down to 10 men which allowed SuperSport to dominate the rest of the encounter.
Prior to that defeat Baroka shocked Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 to end a four-match run without victory.
Baroka hold a 4-3 advantage of Kaizer Chiefs across their 10 previous meetings with three draws. Chiefs beat Baroka 1-0 earlier this season and a similar result could be forthcoming this time around.
Augustine Chidi Kwem’s Chippa United host fellow midtable strugglers, Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, while Greg Etafia’s Highland Parks travel to Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria for their final matchday battle with the relegation battling Amazulu.
Amidst the international break, top leagues in China, South Korea, Japan continue their schedule of fixtures. Same as lower leagues in England, France, Poland, Iceland.
Amidst these exciting actions across Africa, Asia and Europe, we have carefully picked a few matches in this Home and Away Wins ACCA.
See bet slip below for the selected matches:
