After scoring the goal that beat Rivers United in Kano against Pillars, Nyima Nwagua says he has nothing against Stanley Eguma’s men.
Nwagua started as a rookie at Dolphins FC under Eguma but was never considered good enough to be registered, before he joined Go Round FC.
He told NigerianFootballer.com that he has nothing personal to settle with Rivers United and he scored because that was what he had to do.
“I always get criticized, especially by my home fans that whenever I play against Rivers United.
“They says that I take the match personal but that’s not the truth,” Nwagua told NigerianFootballer.com.
“The truth is that I’m only doing my job, Rivers United is the team that gave me a platform to excel, so I don’t see any reason why I should take matches against them personal.
“I just stay calm and do my job. I started with them before I went to Go Round FC, so I really benefited from Rivers United.
“I can’t say much for now so I want to leave it like that,” he said.
Nwagua has bagged two goals in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League season for his side Kano Pillars and is aiming to increase his goal tally as soon as possible.
