There are exciting matches scheduled to take place in Europe’s top leagues including the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, Spanish La Liga and French Ligue 1.

In Africa, the second legs of CAF Confederations Cup final qualifications matches take place across the continent. Two Nigerian clubs, Rivers United and Enyimba go toe to toe in Port Harcourt as the Pride of Rivers seek to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit against the People’s Elephants.

Amidst these exciting actions across Europe and Africa, we have carefully picked a few matches in this Home Wins ACCA Special.

We are backing the odds-on home favorites to triumph in the 8 selected matches. These selections have been made based on the teams’ current forms and  best available head to head stats.

Spotlight on Nigerian Players in League Actions across Europe

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho will be in action for English Premier League away day specialists Leicester City who travel to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa in a Midlands derby.

Aston Villa and Leicester came close to sharing the spoils in the reverse fixture between the teams in October, before a late Ross Barkley effort from distance allowed the Villains to steal all three points in injury time.

The sides looked extremely well-matched at the King Power Stadium that evening before Barkley’s punt however, when Leicester mustered 11 shots to Villa’s ten, and the possession stats were split almost perfectly down the middle.

With Aston Villa’s home form solid, and Leicester unbeaten in all but one of their away contests this season, the neighbours could be difficult to separate again.

Across the border, Super Eagles duo of Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo will lead the charge for Scottish Premiership runaway leaders Rangers as the Gers push to maintain their superiority at Ibrox when they entertain Dundee United.

Steven Gerrard’s men look away and gone in the Scottish Premiership title race – they are 15 points clear of Old Firm rivals Celtic – and they have yet to lose any of their 29 league games.

Rangers are a perfect 14 from 14 at Ibrox, where they have won 13 of their games to nil and conceded only once.

That run included a 4-0 win over Dundee United in September and another clean sheet could follow against The Tangerines, who have fired blanks in eight of their last 12 away games.

Elsewhere, in Italy, Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will be expected to lead the attack for Napoli as the Naples take on Champions League chasing Atalanta for the third time this month at Gewiss Stadium.

Only goal difference separates these two sides in the Serie A standings, but Atalanta have lost just one of their last six encounters with Napoli.

That sequence includes a 3-1 victory at the Gewiss Stadium in the Coppa Italia semi-finals earlier this month, with that triumph forming part of an impressive home run for La Dea, as they have lost just one of their last 11 games on their own patch.

By contrast, Napoli’s away form has been woeful of late, as they have lost five matches on the spin on their travels, including a 2-0 defeat at Granada in the Europa League on Thursday.

Other Nigerian players expected to be in actions include: Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye for Sparta Rotterdam away to Dutch Eredivise leaders Ajax; Tyronne Ebuehi for FC Twente at home to Dutch Eredivise title hopeful Feyenoord; Samuel Chukwueze for Villarreal away to Spanish La Liga mid-table team Athletic Bilbao; Peter Olayinka for Czech Republic Liga 1 champions Slavia Prague away to struggling Teplice.

Remember to always bet responsibly. Always avoid staking what you cannot afford losing!

May you play along!
