Head coach of Nasarawa United, Bala Nikyu has expressed his opinion that the current position occupied by the teams participating in the Nigeria Professional Football League is temporary.

Nikyu said this after his side’s 1-0 win over Adamawa United in Lafia on Match Day 24.

“It’s a good result for my team, but any position any team is occupying now is not permanent because we still have more matches to play.

“But the truth is, the league is getting tougher and any point you get is as important as winning the league,” Nikyu said.

The former Nigeria U-17 women’s coach, added that they are expecting more wins to move up from their current third position.

“Being in third position for now is not what we are looking for. We are still looking for more wins so that we can be more comfortable.”

The result moved Nasarawa United from 5th to the 3rd position on the log with 42 points, three points behind league leaders, Akwa United.

Nasarawa United will travel to the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina to face Katsina United on Match Day 25, before hosting Warri Wolves and Plateau United in Match Day 26 and 27 respectively at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia.
