Six players have won places in the Super Falcons team for the next phase of camping ahead of the FIFA Women World Cup.

The two weeks screening camp of Super Falcons which lasted from 20th January to 3rd February came to a close after the team played a series of friendly matches where the players were discovered.

Amongst players discovered at the camp are Emueje Oghiagbhef (Rossiyanka FC, Russia), Mary Ofuokwu (Pelican Stars), Oshoala Asisat (FC Robo), Odunayo Adejoro (Sunshine Queens), Esther Udegbe (FC Robo) and Kehinde Idowu (Pelican Stars).

After thorough observation of players in camp, 6 of them were considered physically and technically fit for further invitation to Super Falcons camp to fight for a place in the team preparatory for World Cup and other competitions.

They will be invited alongside the old players of Super Falcons in subsequent camps and competitions.

Super Falcons head coach, Eucharia Uche while expressing satisfaction with the result at the camp said “all the invited players are good in their own right, but we were looking for players who are going to give the old players a good fight for a shirt.”

Have your say. We'd love to know what you think.
