Enyimba gaffer, Usman Abd’llah says his team is ready to get a result against Al-Hilal on Sunday in the CAF Champions League.
Both sides clash at the Enyimba International Stadium and the coach is optimistic they will get a result good enough to see them through to the next stage after the second leg encounter.
Abd’llah told NigerianFootballer.com that a lot of work is needed in the team they have had enough friendly games to tie up loose ends.
“A lot of work is still needed for the team, but with the friendlies my players have had they have looked sharper, fitter and they’re beginning to blend as a team.
“As it stands we have the responsibility of representing the country well in the competition and we’ll give it our best shot.
“My players are ready and if they play to my instructions then we obviously have a big chance of going all the way,” Abd’llah told NigerianFootballer.com.
Enyimba played their immediate past home game in the CAF Champions League behind closed doors following a directive from the Confederation of African Football.
However, against Al Hilal, fans will be allowed in, a development that excites the coach.
“It is an exceptional privilege given to us by CAF by allowing the fans to watch the game.
“The fans bring in extra energy to the team and we are optimistic that with them around and cheering us, we will get a comfortable result on Sunday.”
Enyimba wrapped up their friendly games with a draw against Rivers United on Monday at the Enyimba International Stadium. The game ended 1-1.
Sunday Michael opened scores for Rivers United before Stanley Dimgba equalised for Enyimba via a penalty kick. Austin Oladapo had earlier missed a penalty for Enyimba.
The players have been in a closed camp to further prepare themselves for the big match on Sunday.
