The
Organizing Committee of the Brown Ideye Challenge has issued a one match bench
ban on Coaches of Jike Stars and Awoba Stars.
Coach
Balafama Bruce and London Huttons were found guilty of a ‘conflict of interest’
as both coaches were both on the bench in games involving Awoba Stars and Jike
stars in Groups A and C respectively.
Bruce
and Huttons are to thus have nothing to do with their sides from the technical
area on their next match day and have also been warned to stick with their
respective teams subsequently.
In
a statement made available to naijafootball247.com and signed by head of Media
and Publicity, Carl Orakwue, the Organizing Committee also issued a stern
warning to coach of Rivers United Academy, Sunny Iseokwehma to be wary of acts
capable of bringing the tournament into disrepute.
The
Rivers United Academy coach was unruly towards match officials in the closing
stages of his side’s loss to SKE in their first game of the tournament.
Iseokwehma
is to consider this a final warning as the Committee would not fail to act if
such acts are repeated again.
The
committee has also called on participating teams to ensure they always be of
good behavior and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the
tournament.
