Officials of Nigeria’s U20 men football team, the Flying Eagles insist VVV Venlo forward; Ahmed Musa (Pictured left)would be part of the team for the Africa Youth Championships that holds in South Africa in a few days.

The media was awash with a report on Tuesday morning quoting the Press and Communications officer of VVV Venlo, Ellen Berden that they have not given Musa the nod to play for Nigeria in the championships but Sam Audu says it is not true.

Audu is the media officer of the Flying Eagles and he told naijafootball247.com that the earlier report that Musa would play the first two games for Nigeria in South Africa still stands.

“I have spoken to those in authority at the NFF since I was told about this new development and they have in turn reached out to those they had been communicating with at Holland and I can tell you that Musa is still part of our team,” Audu said.

Head coach of the Flying Eagles had earlier said that Musa is a key part of the plans of his team and wanted Nigerians to see him as that.

“The mistake people make is that they look at Musa as a Super Eagles player who we want in our team but in truth he is our player,” Obuh told naijafootball247.com.

“He has been an integral part of the team and played almost all of our qualifying games before now so we just want our player in the team.”

Obuh said Ahmed Musa’s dedication, team spirit and eagerness to learn on the job are factors he will bring to the team if he joins them in South Africa.
