Go Round FC top scorer, Onyedikachi Ugwu says he had to stop womanizing in a bid to rediscover his goal scoring form.
He has five goals to his name but at some point in the current football season, fans of the club sang against him during a game and urged the coaches and management to sack him for poor performance.
“The truth is that everyone knows I tried to join Crown FC at the start of the season but returned to the club after Match Day One,” Ugwu said.
“I was not ready for the game. I didn’t do well and I was not prepared but the coach asked me to play, I was not surprised about my poor performance.
Ugwu went on to score the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Cynosure FC at Abakaliki, he scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win against FC 1 Rocket in Omoku and then a brace at home in the 2-0 win at home to Abia Comets before scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory over Bayelsa United at home.
“I thank God for everything. That’s what I have to say, and I am so excited.
“But after what happened in my first game, I knew there were some things I was doing that were not right so I told God to help me get back to goal scoring and I will stop them,” Ugwu said.
He explained that he lived what he called a bad life that affected his performance on the pitch.
“I said something that the kind of life I lived before, I won’t do it again. I just dropped everything and followed God and now it is working for me.
“Womanising. That is the only bad life I know I was living before. I have dropped everything and that is why the grace of God is following me.
“I believe I will be the highest goal scorer this season.”
