It was another close shave on Sunday as we were let down by TWO “unfortunate teams” who vitiated our Sunday’s Home Wins ACCA Special.
A rather painstaking edit, as we always advise, could have taken out the “unfortunate” Proleter and Olympique Lyon (W). As we always say, we go again!
It’s Monday with not many football actions around the world except for a few games to conclude match week actions in a few top and lower leagues in Europe, Africa and Asia. But this Monday comes with a little extra of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League quarter finals fixtures openers.
Odion Ighalo’s Manchester United take on FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) quarter final. The ‘Red Devils’ do so on the back of 14 unbeaten matches in UEL knockout stages (W9, D5), across which they’ve conceded just seven goals (0.5 on average). Indeed, United have scored in 20 straight competitive matches now, netting two goals or more in 75% of those – if not counting extra time.
FC Copenhagen are the first Danish team to reach a UEL quarter-final, but are huge underdogs here. That said, they have lost just thrice this UEL season (W5, D4), with all three defeats coming by a 1-0 scoreline. Within that, all six of Copenhagen’s group stage matches featured under 2.5 goals. Those aforementioned six group stage matches ultimately averaged just 1.5 goals per match.
The other quarter finals fixture involved Victor Moses’ Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.
Inter Milan come into this UEFA Europa League (UEL) quarter-final fixture after losing just one of their last 15 competitive matches (W9, D5), while shutting out the opposition in six of the previous seven. There should be a winner one way or another, as Inter Milan have registered just a single draw across their last 16 UEL fixtures (W8, L7).
Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-0 win in the previous round bore some significance, with just one of their last four competitive games featuring both teams scoring. Fans should expect a lively start here, as the opener has been scored within 25 minutes in all but one of Leverkusen‘s last five fixtures in all competitions.
Domestic leagues in Norway, Switzerland, Iran, Jordan, Morocco conclude matchweek actions.
Amidst this little action across Europe, Asia and Africa, we have carefully picked a few matches in this Chance Mix ACCA Special.
